World Series Sprintcars campaign about to get under way.
The GW Racing team has just about completed preparations for the upcoming Wanless World Series Sprintcars tour. After a mixed result last year we are looking to improve our consistency and come away with some good results. Last season we aimed to make all the feature races but this didn't quite go to plan. This year we go in with the same attitude and plan and look forward to some great racing.
Last season was a great experience, not only for Peter as the driver, but the whole crew. Racing alongside the greats such as Brooke Tatnell, Max Dumsney, Robbie Farr and Trevor Green night after night is awe inspiring, and to finish on top in round three at Kalgoorlie showed us we can do it if we can get it right.
This year we have got Paul Gislingham to assist with car set up. Paul has just come off a winning year and had been helping us at the end of last season which had been a major leap forward .
Another major factor has been Peter's trip to the US, spending time with one of the major outlaw teams in Titan racing. Reeve's generosity, along with Glenno, Darryn and Bingo, and having shared knowledge has assisted us in car preparation and race craft. This has already shown with a great result in our north Qld swing .
Time trialing is of most importance in WSS (we struggled with this last season). So we have purchased a new Yamaha ATV to carry more available parts that can be changed at the last minute, which can get those valuable hundredths of a second. It will also help push the car around, and the ATV is a lot more stable and powerful than the previous bike making it safer for the push driver.
The season kicks off this Saturday night at the official WSS launch at the Breakfast Creek Hotel in Brisbane followed by round one at Brisbane International Speedway on Saturday night.
An immense amount of planning and logistics go into taking the car around Australia and it would be extremely difficult without our sponsors.
